The Secret Society is an international platform operating across multiple cities and regions. Where you can participate depends on which locations you have been approved for. This article covers the full picture of where the platform currently operates, where it is heading, and what access to a location actually means.

What a "Location" Means on the Platform

On The Secret Society, a location refers to a full operational market — not a single venue or address. A location encompasses an entire city or region, including all the venues and experiences available within that area.

For example, when you are approved for London, you gain access to all events organized within the London market. You do not need separate access for each individual venue — location-level approval covers everything within that market.

Each location operates as its own independent ecosystem with its own set of venues, collaborations, and event schedules. This is why access is managed per location rather than universally. Being approved for Dubai does not automatically grant you access to Riyadh. Each market must be requested and approved individually.

Why Some Cities May Appear in the App Before They Are Active

As The Secret Society prepares to enter a new market, those locations may become visible in the app in advance. This serves two purposes:

1. It allows users to register interest early. Expressing interest before a market is live helps the platform understand demand and prioritize access reviews when the city opens.

2. It allows the platform to build a quality user pool. By reviewing interested users before launch, the platform can prepare a strong initial cohort of participants for the market's opening.

If you see a city in the app that is listed as "launching soon" or "coming soon," use the interest feature to position yourself for early access.

How Events Appear Based on Your Location Access

The events you see in the app are directly determined by the locations you have been approved for. If you have not been approved for a specific city, events in that city will not appear in your feed — even if events are actively happening there.

This is important to understand: the absence of events in a city does not necessarily mean no events are occurring. It may simply mean you have not yet been approved for that market.

To see events in a new city, you need to request access to that location and wait for approval. Once approved, the city will appear in your location selector and its events will become visible.

Switching Between Locations

If you have been approved for multiple locations, you can switch between them using the location selector at the top of the app. The location you have selected determines which events are displayed in your feed.

This makes it straightforward to explore opportunities in different cities — simply switch to the market you are interested in and browse what is available.

If a city does not appear in your selector, it means you have not yet been approved for that location.
